About Rock Cottage .....

For 69 years, Rock Cottage has been a family run holiday rental. It is a traditional Cornish Cottage, over 400 years old and stands alone in an AONB. Unique, picturesque, a little piece of paradise with a magnificent exclusive view, this stunning property sits in an acre of private grounds. Built on a projecting rock foundation, it enjoys an elevated position with water frontage on two sides.

At this very special place you can escape everyday life, unwind and relax. Birdsong and the gentle lapping of the tidal Mawgan Creek occasionally break the silence. Away from crowds it offers privacy at all times. You can enjoy its large, terraced waterside grounds, woodland and private foreshore where our sturdy rowing dinghy 'Peggy' is moored from Easter to late October.

Places to visit ....

If you can tear yourself away, within an easy 10 minute drive, you will soon discover the beautiful sandy beaches and fishing coves of the Lizard Peninsula. Walk the South West coastal footpath taking in the wonderful scenery, visit the glorious gardens of Trebah, Glendurgan, Trelissick, Trengwainton, Heligan, Eden Project, art galleries, tin mines, St Michael's Mount, the Minack Theatre, Flambards, Gweek seal sanctuary, Falmouth Maritime museum, boat trips and much more.  There is something for everyone to enjoy.

During our ownership, hundreds of guests have taken a holiday at Rock Cottage and many return frequently knowing there is always something new to discover.

What it's like to holiday on South West Cornwall's Helford River...

The below extracts from guest comments gives you an idea of what there is to see and do whilst staying at Rock Cottage!

"We loved Rock Cottage and the beautiful Mawgan Creek, the constant seaside chorus & rhythm of the tide offering wonderful distractions; crabbing, exploring the river with Peggy, paddle boarding under bridges and feeding the fat wood pigeon amongst many other little friends; remote yet so quickly connected to the best of Cornwall’s beaches...this is Cornwall at her beautiful best. ... This really is one of the most magical places we have ever stayed. We loved the peace and quiet, and the wonderful view of the creek. We found beautiful beaches, boating, coastal paths and body boarding all in a short distance along with some tasty eateries!"
