Rock Cottage is an idyllic 16c property with beautiful estuary views of the Helford River. Watch the sun rise over the Mawgan creek and enjoy sunshine all day until it sets in the west. The view is stunning at any time of year; it's simply amazing, so peaceful and ever-changing. The stillness of the creek is mesmerising and in the evening, the sound of owls, and birdsong can be heard in the dark starry sky. Bird lovers can enjoy watching the many birds that live on the creek such as the cormorant, egret, heron, oyster catcher, curlew, green and redshanks and, if you are lucky, the elusive kingfisher as it flits past the jetty.
Enjoy complete privacy, riverside views, a well-appointed and most comfortable interior, some fabulous beaches and coves nearby, good restaurants, pubs and stunning clifftop walks. Go out in 'Peggy' and explore the creeks from our private foreshore. Enjoy crabbing as well as fishing from either the boat or jetty. Launch your kayaks/canoes/paddle boards or take a wild swim. An enviable location with very easy access to many places of interest here in South West Cornwall.

About Rock Cottage...
We take great pride in looking after Rock Cottage, which has been in our Family for 70 years. This traditional Cornish Cottage is over 400 years old and still stands completely alone in an AONB. Unique, picturesque, a little piece of paradise with a magnificent exclusive view, our stunning property sits in an acre of private grounds. Built on a projecting rock foundation, it enjoys an elevated position with water frontage on two sides.
At this very special place you can escape everyday life, unwind and relax. Birdsong and the gentle lapping of the tidal Mawgan Creek occasionally break the silence. Away from crowds it offers privacy at all times. You can enjoy its large, terraced waterside grounds, woodland and private foreshore where our sturdy rowing dinghy 'Peggy' is moored from Easter to late October.

If you can tear yourself away, within an easy 10 minute drive, you will soon discover the beautiful sandy beaches and fishing coves of the Lizard Peninsula. Walk the South West coastal footpath taking in the wonderful scenery, visit the glorious gardens of Trebah, Glendurgan, Trelissick, Trengwainton, Heligan, Eden Project, art galleries, tin mines, St Michael's Mount, the Minack Theatre, Flambards, Gweek seal sanctuary, Falmouth Maritime museum, boat trips and much more. There is something for everyone to enjoy.

Dogs at Rock Cottage
We welcome a well trained dog but must also consider those guests who do not own one. Bookings for two persons only who agree to our T&Cs, may bring their pet FOC.
Rock Cottage is a traditional 16c Cornish property and your comfort in the kitchen area can be compromised when there are more than four persons plus a dog. However, there is wonderful outside space for your pet and a gated entrance with Cornish hedge. The open garden borders the river on two sides and drops onto a muddy foreshore.
We politely ask that you respect our home and do not allow your dog to enter the carpeted lounge which leads to the upstairs bedrooms. High quality bedding and furnishings are provided for our two legged guests to enjoy! We will put a dog gate in situ before your arrival to assist just in case your furry friend has other ideas. Whilst indoors, your pet can eat, sleep and live quite happily in the kitchen and hallway where any evidence of muddy paws can be washed away. There are some wonderful walks and beaches to take with your pet nearby.
